2026 Steel City Takeover

Some NFL cities just mean more.

Pittsburgh is one of them.

Cold weather. Terrible towels everywhere. Bridges packed with fans walking toward the stadium. One of the most historic franchises in football. And for Panthers fans? A little unfinished business, too.

Because the last time Carolina went to Pittsburgh… things got ugly.

The Steelers blew us out.
T.J. Watt wrecked Cam’s shoulder.
And honestly, Panthers fans have been holding onto that grudge ever since.

Now we finally get another shot.

The Steel City Takeover marks Carolina’s return to Pittsburgh for the first time in eight years, and with this game landing the weekend after Christmas, it’s the perfect excuse to escape the holiday madness, throw on your black and blue, and spend a football weekend with the Riot.

We’ll be staying in Pittsburgh’s iconic Golden Triangle district surrounded by bars, restaurants, breweries, and some of the best game day atmosphere in the NFL.

And then comes game day.

One of the coolest traditions in Pittsburgh is the massive walk to the stadium across the bridges with thousands of fans pouring toward Acrisure Stadium from downtown. Street vendors everywhere. Terrible towels waving. Football energy everywhere you look.

Now imagine all of that…
with the Roaring Riot right in the middle of it.

We’ll march across the bridge together before taking over the tailgate lots and heading into the stadium ready to make some noise against one of the NFL’s most loyal fanbases.

And let’s be honest:
Steelers fans LOVE showing up in Charlotte.

It’s about time Panthers fans return the favor.

There’s also a weird little layer to this rivalry considering Panthers owner David Tepper used to be a minority owner of the Steelers before buying the Panthers. So yeah… this one always feels like something extra.

There’s just something special about football in Pittsburgh in late December.

Cold air.
Packed bridges.
Keep Pounding chants cutting through a sea of terrible towels.

That’s the kind of road trip people remember forever. If the game is flexed to Saturday night --- that's even better. We'll be there in plenty of time and then celebrate our win by watching football all day Sunday 😎
